| A day celebrated by all in Mineral Town. Presents are given out, misletoes were hanged under convinent locations for the couples, and happiness was there for all. Except one....... Mary sighed as she looked at the Christmas tree. She only got three presents this year. One from her mother, a novel she had been wanting for a very long time. Her father got her a plushie of a swordsman named Link. Mary giggled at how cute it looked. Finally, she got a necklace from her best friend Elli. She was happy, but something was missing, and she knew what it was. She was missing Jack Harvest. The farmer that had taken over old man Jake's farm this spring. The person who actually came to her library, read books, and asked her for advice. The friend that was there for her in her times of trouble. The man who brought her gifts almost every day. She wanted more than anything for him to give her a Christmas present, as she had one ready for him. Like her dad, she had gotten him a plushie. Three of them, in fact. She noticed he read lots of ninja stories, so she snuck out to the city and bought three plushies of ninja's that were famous from video games and tv. Naruto Uzumaki, Kasumi, and Ryu Hayabusa. However, she had a case of the Christmas Blues. She wanted him to come over, give her a hug, ANYTHING. However, as she looked at the clock, she knew he might never come. "Jack, just where are you?" She asked. -------------------------- "ACHOO!" Jack sneezed. Jack Harvest was in the middle of taking care of his animals. Winter meant no harvest, so he had to rely on his animals to bring in a profit. "I wonder who's saying something about me?" he asked himself. After taking care of his cows, he wiped the sweat off his head with the spare hanky in his pocket. Exiting the barn, he heard someone shout, "Hey Jack! Your package came in!" It was Zack, and he was holding a small brown box. Jack rushed over to the shipper and supplier, and ripped the package out of his hands and went into his house, shouting a quick "Thanks!" to Zack, who only shook his head, grinned, and walked to the poultry farm for his Christmas suprise. Jack ripped right through the package to the prize inside, and then rewrapped it in nice Christmas themed wrapping paper of smiling snowmen with a snowwoman next to him. After that, he took a shower and changed into nice clothes. A white shirt, blue sweater, red scarf, jeans, and sneakers, and he switched his hat for a beanie. Just as he was about to leave the farm to deliever his gift though, he froze. He knew what this was, and the dangers of what might come with it. So instead of going the straight way, he decided to go the long way around, to the town square. ------------------------------ Mary sighed as she saw that night was descending. She heard her mother and father celebrating downstairs, and decided that she might as well deliver her gift. She was very sad and dissapointed that Jack did not come. Maybe......maybe he didn't like her that way after all. She violently shook her head at the thought of him celebrating Christmas with someone like Karen or Popuri. She had to find him and give him her Christmas present, at least to ease her worried mind. Putting on a sweater and scarf, she left her house with present in tow and decided to take the long way around to Jack's house, giving her some time to think, and for him to get home if he did go celebrate somewhere else. Just as she entered the dark, snowy square, the streetlights came on, and illuminated the one person Mary wanted to see. "Jack?" She asked. "Mary?" Jack replied as he walked towards her. Both of their faces were blushing wildly, and presents stashed behind their backs. "Let's go under that light over there. I need to tell you something." Jack said, looking at the upperleft streetlight. "Alright." Mary agreed as they walked under it. They stood there, staring at each other for what felt like an eternity, before she finally decided to speak. "Merry Christmas Jack." she told him, handing him the present of the plushies. "Thanks." Jack said, smiling brightly at her. "This is the only present I've gotten all day." Mary blushed and looked down when he told her that fact. "I've got a present for you too." Jack continued, handing her the small, rectangular present. "Thanks Jack." Mary said, smiling. "Open it up." Jack told her, excited. Mary was confused, but carefully undid the ribbon and gently undid the wrapping paper as well. When she opened the box, she gasped in suprise. "Jack.....this......this is......" Mary couldn't even say a sentence. "Mary, would you do me the honor of marrying me?" Jack asked, taking out the blue feather in the box and holding her hand with the feather. ".........Yes. Yes, Jack Harvest, I'll marry you." Mary said, wrapping her arms around him, crying in happiness. Jack stroked her hair and hugged her back for a few minutes, before whispering, "Look up." Mary did so, and smiled when she saw the Mistletoe hanging on the streetlamp. "Merry Christmas." Jack told her. "Yes. Merry Christmas." Mary said before they brought their lips together in a kiss neither would forget anytime soon. Finally, there were no more Christmas Blues. The End |
